I had the pleasure of leading a workshop earlier this month at Muckabout Gift Gallery in Burnaby. I just love this gift shop and studio! They have so much going on!
Anyhow, we started out sharing a bit about ourselves and out of the shares came a heartfelt prompt for journaling which we titled “little miracles”. After quietly journaling our thoughts onto our wood canvas (with a few tears I might add), we began to apply the first of many layers. We used collage papers, napkins, acrylic inks, fluid acrylics, various mediums for texture and finished off with mark making.
The class size was small (four plus me and my helper, gifted fellow artist Barbara Ferris) which made for an intimate setting! I really enjoyed watching everyone’s painting come to life as each student put their uniqueness into their art.
Ninna, the owner and potter at Muckabout’s was ever so helpful and kind. I look forward to teaching another class soon! I am also looking forward to enrolling in one of the many classes that Muckabout offers!
For now I am busy creating my art so that my stores are stocked and I can get ready for my big build this spring! I have been researching little lambs and cannot wait for the day when I walk around my property being followed by little fluff balls!!!
I hope you are all enjoying the days getting longer! Soon we will have lazy days of summer!
